Role summary
The Commercial Manager will lead the growth of the company's commodity logistics and warehousing activities in Vietnam, with coverage of soft commodities, metals and general cargoes. The role is responsible for developing the commercial strategy, building the customer base and ensuring sustainable profitability in close coordination with the General Director.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and execute commercial plans to increase volumes, revenue and margin for logistics, warehousing and value added services in Vietnam.
• Identify, pursue and secure new customers (traders, producers, processors, importers/exporters), including handling tenders, RFQs and long term agreements.
• Manage and deepen relationships with key accounts, serving as the main contact for commercial discussions, performance reviews and new opportunities.
• Negotiate contracts, tariffs and commercial terms for storage, handling, transport and related services in line with company policies and risk appetite.
• Work closely with operations, finance and customer service to ensure service quality, cost control and timely issue resolution.
• Track market trends in commodities and logistics in Vietnam and provide regular market intelligence and recommendations to the General Director.
• Take ownership of P&L for assigned customer portfolios and product lines, including pricing, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Prepare periodic commercial reports and presentations for management, highlighting key risks, opportunities and proposed actions.
• Represent the company in meetings with customers, logistics partners, port/warehouse operators and relevant industry stakeholders in Vietnam.
Yêu cầu
Candidate profile
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in commodity logistics, warehousing, freight or trading, ideally with exposure to the Vietnamese or regional markets.
• Strong understanding of commercial models for logistics and warehousing, including tariffs, surcharges and value added services.
• Proven track record in B2B
business development and key account management.
• Good knowledge of port, warehouse and inland transport operations, and familiarity with related shipping and trade documentation.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills, with confidence engaging senior client stakeholders and reporting directly to top management.
• Independent, hands on and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment, with willingness to travel within Vietnam and occasionally in the region.
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with WMS/ERP or logistics systems is an advantage.
