Position Summary
The Contract Management Specialist undertakes a high-level role in university contract management activities. Provides specialist advice and oversees the development and management of complex, high-risk contracts. Leads the development and implementation of strategic sourcing project and contract management strategies to achieve university's objectives and strategic vision.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Senior Manager, Business Administration

Organizational Accountabilities
RMIT Vietnam is committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of its staff members. Appointees are accountable for completing training on these matters and ensuring their knowledge, and the knowledge of their staff (if any), is up to date.
Key Accountabilities
The Contract Management Specialist is responsible for delivering effective and efficient contract management practices. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
(1) Contract management
• Designs high-level contract strategy, undertakes research and consults with key stakeholders to shape contract management procedure, guidelines and process improvements;
• Manages the development, implementation and ongoing management of contract management initiatives;
• Maintains sustainable contract management practices aligned with RMIT University's practice systems, process, policy, financial integrity and probity;
• Ensures outcomes of contract management activities are aligned to RMIT Vietnam and RMIT University's objectives;
• Manages the contract process of the complex and high risk contracts;
• Provides guidance, training and coordination to the university's contract owners/admins from Schools/Divisions for contract implementation, execution, and administration;
• Be in charge of central contract management helpdesk function;
• Participates or influences the drafting the commercial terms and conditions for Strategic Sourcing projects;
• Negotiates or provides advice to contract negotiation to attain the most appropriate contract to deliver the universities requirements based on sound commercial and legal principles;
• Applies effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible commercial issues;
• Develops and maintains effective relationships with key staff from critical suppliers and customers and leverages them to resolve complex or contentious contractual disputes.
(2) Contract Management System:
• Implement and maintain a system to monitor university Contract Management activities;
• Ensure that contract outcomes are fully documented, contract performance and outcomes are monitored and clearly communicated to all parties involved and internal stakeholders;
• Ensure contract management reports are generated timely as required for monitoring purpose.
(3) Other tasks as required by Business Administration function.
