The Children's Apparel Fashion Designer is responsible for designing, developing and producing children's fashion apparel and related items. This is a hands-on position requiring the designer to work closely with production staff as well as with the marketing department. Furthermore, designers should be able to understand the latest trends in children's fashion and develop their own distinctive style that will appeal to the target market. She/he must have a good sense of color, design, and style in order to create clothing that appeals to the target market.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Creating designs and sketches as well as drawing patterns for children's clothing and accessories, which include coordinating colors and fabrics for production (girls and boys, infants, toddlers, etc.). Maintaining an exceptional level of expertise in the design and development of children's clothing.
• 2. Producing artwork and print designs
• 3. Developing 3D samples and drawing patterns for production
• 4. Researching the market and keeping abreast of industry trends
• 5. Collaborating with marketing staff to ensure that all designs reflect the company's overall style and aesthetic, as well as being on trend and current
• 6. Controlling production budgets and timelines by coordinating with production staff on the following: determining appropriate fabrications, establishing production schedules, estimating costs, setting deadlines, and monitoring progress.
• 7. Adapting designs as necessary based on feedback from Marketing and Sales
• 8. Developing seasonal product lines and coordinating advertising campaigns with the Marketing Department to introduce the latest products. Providing promotional materials as needed to the marketing team
• 9. Other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor

Requirements:

• 1. Must be Vietnam nationality or has close relationships with local Vietnamese/ long-term stay in Vietnam since this position required someone who understands the local market and also be based in Sai Gon.
• 2. Fashion or clothing design experience of at least two years. Having experience in the kids apparel industry and/or retail fashion is a significant advantage.
• 3. Know-how and passion for product development.
• 4. Proficiency in English communication
• 5. A working knowledge of design software and other office applications
• 6. The ability to be positive, energetic, kind, pro-active, can-do, and a go-getter.
• 7. An individual with a strong sense of aesthetics, a good sense of responsibility, a strong work ethic, and a demonstrated sense of integrity.
• 8. The willingness to work as part of a dynamic startup in an international environment.
