IT Network Administrator

Engineering and Provisioning
• To advise and support the ICT Manager in researching, designing, and planning effective information systems to support the school's operational and educational needs.
• To implement and provision systems and procedures (HRIS, AD) to align with NAE IT central directives.
• To implement, configure, control, monitor, and maintain the school's physical and virtual computing infrastructure.
• To build up and maintain installation and configuration procedures and contribute to and maintain system standards.
Operations and Support
• Design and perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion for scheduled jobs such as backups.
• To perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
• To perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off-site as necessary.
• To perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
• To create, change, and delete user accounts and manage user access rights and permissions as necessary.
• To provide tier 3 support, investigation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
• To repair and recover from hardware or software failures and coordinate and communicate with impacted stakeholders.
• Support line manager to mentor/cross-train team members on existing and new technologies.
• Define and document best practices and support procedures.
Maintenance
• To apply OS and System Software patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
• To maintain operational, configuration, and other procedures.
• To perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
• To perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimisation as required. Configure CPU, memory, and storage as required.
• Maintain the server room environment and monitor and maintain equipment.
