Senior Software Developer

Your will contribute by:

• Coding and testing software as part of an Agile team
• Communicating effectively on the team
• Updating status and technical documents in Jira and Confluence
• Supporting and mentoring other team members as required.
• Troubleshooting and escalating issues when necessary
• Participating in our R&D programme where we are using Docker, Kafka, Kubernetes etc

Our ideal people will have working knowledge or experience in:

• Being able to demonstrate solid software development skills - you have a portfolio of existing code, sites and contributions.
• Having at least 3 years of experience as a software developer
• Strong troubleshooting, tracing and debugging skills,
• Experienced with TDD, jUnit, Mocking frameworks, Linux
• Experience coding to complicated business requirements, and implementation to technical specifications
• Experience supporting junior team members.
• A genuine commitment to getting things done

Technically you will understand and have worked with some (or all):

• Strong Java knowledge
  • Java or Java EE Certified,
  • Knowledge of typical patterns, core libraries and frameworks.
  • Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and Implementation skills
• Working SQL Knowledge
• Demonstrably strong skills in Enterprise Java, including ...
  • Java Application Server technologies, including JSF 2 with Primefaces
  • Spring and Hibernate
  • Java messaging (e.g., ActiveMQ)
  • integration technologies including REST and OpenAPI
• You are comfortable working with legacy back-end when needed
• Experienced and comfortable with
  • Eclipse as the main IDE
  • Working in an Agile environment (we use JIRA)
  • Current Windows experience and you know your way around Linux with reasonable scripting skills
