Production (Coating) Manager - Chemical Degree

JOB PURPOSE
Ensure online coating process and operations are carried out safely and efficiently so that production output and quality standards are maintained within budget constraints and industry regulations by continuously developing processes and personnel.

• Management of 4 engineers and 36 operators

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
 Ethic & Compliance
• Communicate and adhere to NSG Group Standards of Business Conduct, Code of Ethics, Guiding Principles, and its Values to ensure the compliance.
 Planning
• Establish department objectives in terms of production, quality and safety that are in line with the company objectives and strategy.
• Plan and control the department budget in terms of material, consumables, maintenance activities and CAPEX for efficient and effective operations.
 Safety & Environment
• Manage and implement company safety & environment policies, regulations, and procedures within the department to ensure a high safety standard and an incident-free workplace.
• Manage operations to comply with local chemical regulations.
• Oversee working environment and equipment to ensure compliance with 5S principles.
 Quality
• Oversee the entire operations to comply with the prescribed QMS system (including ISO9001. ISO14000, IS0...)
• Collaborate with QA team and customer to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
 Production
• Establish and implement management system (control plan, FMEA, WI/SOP, procedure, etc.) in the Coating department to ensure process stability, coating yields, film quality, run length, TRT.
• Review coating yields, process losses, quality loss and planning requirements with the relevant teams to develop quality and production performance.
• Utilize all available resources (both internal and external of NSG Group) to ensure that the coating facility demonstrates best practices on all critical manufacturing processes.
• Manage coating production activities to meet requirements and specifications at reduced cost, high yields, quality, and increased efficiency.
• Review and approve operational works, purchase of material/consumables/equipment according to company authorization matrix to ensure cost efficiency and transparency.
• Timely review safety systems, production processes, productivity, and maintenance to ensure proper actions.
• Constant on-call to ensure uninterrupted operations.
 Continuous Improvement
• Implement CI problem-solving approach to ensure rapid resolution of critical production issues, and minimize recurrence through established preventative measures.
• Drive innovation by continuously seeking and implementing new and improved safety and manufacturing methods, processes, and equipment.
 People Management
• Organize and lead the activities and personnel of the department to comply with company procedure, policies and effective involvement in all manufacturing operation.
• Promote a collaborative work environment by proactively addressing employee concerns, ensuring fair and timely resolution of complaints to minimize disruption and maintain operational continuity.
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of Coating team for performance appraisal and developing people.
• Cultivate and coaching talents within team to realize their full potential and conduct succession planning.
• Analyse employee competency gaps and work with HR develop and implement effective training plans for all employees.
• Conduct training programs and qualification testing to ensure all employees perform properly and safely.
