Public Relations Specialist

Renesas is seeking a high-judgement, self-motivated and creative communications professional to join our CEO Office tteam in Japan.
This candidate will report to the Senior Manager of Public Relations/Internal Communications Group and will have the opportunity to lead the company's outreach to key influencers in the media and analyst community. The Global PR specialist works directly with the executive to establish external and internal messaging and media relations strategy for the corporate PR.
The ideal candiate will have experience managing communications with external audiences in the tech industry. He or she must have excellent writing skills and be able to take complex technical topics and create compelling messages targeted at our stakeholders.
Responsibilities

• A hands-on owner of Renesas' global business PR program
• Build and foster relationships with teams and leadership across Renesas and identify new opportunities and processees to expand our communications impact globally
• Development of compelling written materials, including press releases, contributed content, and Q&A for media inquiries.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key business & product/technology editors, and industry analysts while driving proactive/reactive media efforts
• Facilitate/coordinate briefings and attend media events
• Promote the Renesas brand and assure consistency in messaging
• Crisis communications

Required Skills and Work Experience

• Minimum of 5+ years of PR experience, Specific PR experience in semiconductor or tech industry highly preferred
• Experience working at a listed company and managing writing press releases and documents required by the stock exchange
• Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations, or a similar field
• Strong and clear communication and presentation skills to leadership level audiences
• Experience managing media relationships and a network of media contacts
• Have an entrepreneurial spirit and be passionate, creative and eager to learn
• Ability to deliver in high pressure situations and with short deadlines
• Strong judgement and the ability to respond quickly, yet thoughtfully, to urget PR matters
• Ability to work flexibly with people in different time zones
• Strong partnership capabilities with cross-functional teams
• Understands the full range of semiconductor products & technology: MCUs, MPUs, SOCs, analog, power, and mixed-signal ICs.
• An enthusiastic, can-do attitude, a problem solver, able to work autonomously, natural leadership characteristics, high energy and sense of urgency while being patient when setbacks occur
• Outgoing, positive person that collaborates well and can handle a complete PR program, from strategic to tactical
• Ability to work in a global, multicultural environment with the ability to influence without formal authority
• Planning and execution in a fast paced innovative work environment is a must
