About the role
The Group CFO is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership for the organization, ensuring effective financial planning, management and reporting to support the group's overall objectives and growth strategies. The role involves overseeing all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, treasury, taxation, and financial analysis.
Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy:
o Develop and implement the group's financial strategy in alignment with overall corporate objectives.
o Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and board of directors.
o Evaluate and advise on potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic opportunities.
2. Financial Planning and Analysis:
o Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
o Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
o Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, and provide variance analysis and recommendations.
3. Financial Reporting:
o Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
o Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
o Communicate financial results and insights to the executive team and board of directors.
4. Risk Management:
o Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to safeguard the group's financial assets.
o Monitor and manage financial risks, including currency, interest rate, and credit risks.
o Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
5. Treasury and Cash Management:
o Manage the group's liquidity and cash flow to support operational requirements.
o Oversee banking relationships and optimize capital structure.
o Implement effective cash management practices to maximize returns on surplus funds.
6. Taxation and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations in all jurisdictions where the group operates.
o Develop tax planning strategies to optimize the group's tax position.
o Coordinate with external tax advisors and authorities as necessary.
7. Team Leadership and Development:
o Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
o Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to finance staff.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside the organization.
