JOB DESCRIPTION
About the Opportunity
As our Mechanical Designer, you'll play a key role in developing detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of piping systems, schematics, and general assembly's using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Reporting to the Project Engineer, you will collaborate closely with our Operations and Engineering teams to optimize equipment and piping layout designs, ensuring they meet project specifications, and comply with relevant Australian standards.
Position Accountabilities
• Design and develop detailed 3D models in SolidWorks.
• Create equipment and piping layouts based on job requirements and site conditions.
• Produce comprehensive 2D drawings with precise dimensions and work notes.
• Adept at using AutoCAD to develop clear and easy to follow schematic drawings as required.
• Ensure designs meet all engineering and production requirements as well as meet project specifications and Australian Standards.
• Update and maintain design documentation to reflect changes and improvements.
• Ensure timely delivery of drawings in line with production schedules.
• Liaise with all stakeholders to address and resolve issues that may arise during manufacturing.

Skills & Experience
• Minimum 2 years' experience using SolidWorks and proficient in creating 3D models, 2D drawings, parts, assemblies, design tables and drawing templates.
• Experience in the HVAC industry with a solid understanding of piping, cooling/heating systems, and hydraulic systems is preferred.
• Formal qualifications in Engineering preferred, but not essential (Mechanical or Industrial).
• Previous AutoCAD experience is essential.
• Must be detail oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Be able to communicate in English
