Mid/Sr Backend Developer TypeScript, NodeJS, NestJS

Position Overall Description

As a Middle - Senior Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of our backend services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build robust and scalable solutions, ensuring the highest quality and performance. Your experience in fintech and ERP systems, particularly within the insurance domain, will be invaluable in driving our projects forward.

Principal Accountabilities

Technical Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript, NodeJS, Express, and NestJS.
• Implement and manage SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Ensure code quality and reliability through thorough testing using frameworks such as Jest.
• Utilize Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and manage containerization using Docker.
• Deploy and maintain applications on cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.

System Design and Implementation:

• Design and implement ERP systems, with a preference for experience in the insurance domain.
• Develop scalable and maintainable system architectures.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Agile Development:

• Participate in Agile development processes, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Ensure timely delivery of features and fixes.
• Continuously improve development processes and workflows.

Problem Solving and Communication:

• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Communicate effectively with team members, providing clear and concise updates and documentation.
• Collaborate in a team environment, offering and receiving constructive feedback.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in the fintech space.
• Extensive experience with TypeScript, NodeJS, Express, and advanced knowledge of NestJS.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Strong experience with Git and GitHub.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools such as Jest.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Experience designing and implementing ERP systems, preferably in the insurance domain.
• Strong problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Proficiency in English.
