Department: Strategy/Planning
Reports To: Director of Strategy/Chief Operating Officer
Manages: Senior Strategic Planners, Strategic Planners, Media Planners (if applicable)
Objective:
Lead and manage the Planning team to ensure the development and implementation of creative and effective brand and communication strategies. These strategies should align with customer insights and market context, contributing to the achievement of both client and company business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management and Development:
Team Building: Recruit, train, mentor, and develop the Planning team, including Senior Strategic Planners, Strategic Planners, and Media Planners.
Task Delegation: Assign tasks, set goals, and evaluate the performance of team members.
Skill Enhancement: Regularly update the team on the latest industry knowledge and trends.
Motivation: Foster a positive, creative, and professional work environment that encourages individual growth within the team.
Strategy Development and Oversight:
Strategy Approval: Approve brand and communication strategies proposed by Senior Strategic Planners.
Strategic Direction: Provide overall guidance for strategy development, ensuring alignment with the client's and company's overarching goals.
Quality Control: Ensure the quality of output for strategies and plans developed.
Implementation Oversight: Monitor the implementation of strategies, making timely adjustments and resolving any issues that arise.
Analysis and Evaluation:
Market Analysis: Closely monitor market changes, competitor activities, and emerging trends.
Effectiveness Assessment: Evaluate the overall effectiveness of campaigns and strategies based on specific data.
Reporting: Provide regular and comprehensive reports to the leadership team and clients.
Improvement Recommendations: Propose improvements to enhance departmental performance and optimize client strategies.
Client and Partner Management:
Relationship Maintenance: Maintain strong relationships with current clients, understanding their needs and addressing any issues.
Partnership Expansion: Seek and develop relationships with potential clients and partners.
Presentation and Negotiation: Participate in presentations and negotiations with clients regarding strategies, plans, budgets, etc.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related fields.
At least 7 years of experience in Marketing/Communications/Advertising, with a minimum of 3 years in a management role.
In-depth knowledge of market trends, consumer insights, and the latest communication trends.
Strategic thinking, numerical sensitivity, and excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
Strong leadership, management, motivational, and team-building abilities.
Effective communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
