Retail ArchitectRodd & Gunn New Zealand Limited

The Retail Architect will play a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Management Team in various aspects of drafting, architectural services, and project management. This position will encompass responsibilities such as providing drafting support, project ideation and planning, remote project management, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in architectural drafting, project management skills, and excellent organizational abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Store Development Support:
• Assist in project ideation and planning from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of projects.
• Provide remote project management support, monitoring progress, and addressing any issues that arise.
Drafting Support:
• Provide proficient drafting services utilizing CAD software to develop architectural plans, layouts, and designs.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant building codes and regulations in all drafting tasks.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, architects, and contractors to incorporate feedback and make necessary revisions to drafts.
Architectural Services:
• Assist in mapping out spaces and optimizing layouts to maximize functionality and aesthetics.
• Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to enhance the design and functionality of spaces.
• Support the development and implementation of architectural plans for various projects, including department store concessions and hospitality spaces.
Administration:
• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to drafting, architectural services, and project management activities.
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other documentation as required.
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, and managing correspondence.
• Manage the procurement and verification of insurance certificates, responding to queries and facilitating communication between the insurance provider and internal departments as needed.
What you'll need to succeed:
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and other relevant drafting tools.
• Strong understanding of architectural principles, building codes, and regulations.
• Proven experience in project management, with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.

Key relationships important for this role:
Reports to the Commercial Director with a close working relationship with the Project Management team.
