Job title: Senior Development Geologist
Reports to: Subsurface Manager
Job Purposes: Define the nature of job
Senior Development Geologist with a strong geological background for performing and provide the technical support for Block [protected info] offshore Vietnam:
• Conduct geological model in fractured basement and clastic reservoir
• Take part in reservoir modeling.
• Coordinate/Supervise seismic/data acquisition and data processing.
• Wireline/DD/LWD/Mudlogging/Wellsite Contract planning and execution
• Principle Responsibilities area: Document specific requirements for the position: Be in charge of geologically-related geological model for fracture basement and clastic reservoir (Block 01/97 and 02/97, Offshore, Vietnam)
1. Provide geological support to the subsurface team in gathering an evaluation available geological information, well data in order to form a realistic and consistent assessment of the hydrocarbon potential of the study areas, RAR, FDP.
2. Provide geologic support for the formation of well proposal and help in the gathering of pertinent geological information.
3. Support the lead geologist in the production and maintenance of an up to date well location database.
4. Carry out geological and reservoir models.
5. Carry out & supervise other specific study projects (such as 3D seismic reprocessing, 3D Paleoscan, Geological [protected info])
6. Preparing scope of works of wireline, LWD, mudlogging and Wellsite Geological Consultant services and evaluating all proposals to select the best services for the forthcoming drilling campaign.
7. Well designing/planning.
8. Assist in wellsite duties with activity interest in drilling procedures and safety regulations.
9. Support operations such as mud log, wireline logging plans and supervising at wellsite.
10. Planning and monitoring of core, sidewall core, PVT and cutting samples analyses.
11. Prepare well summaries by evaluating and documenting well results, particularly with regards to the implications for future exploration/appraisal/development.
12. Ensure that the Subsurface Manager is provided with all necessary geological data for proper dispatching to Petrovietnam and partners where applicable.
13. Liase with to Petrovietnam for exploration matters when required.
14. Input of geological/geophysical data into the G&G workstation system.
