Job Description: Accountant (Vietnam)

Position Summary The Accountant is responsible for leading the accounting and financial operations of the Vietnam entity, ensuring compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), tax regulations and corporate governance requirements.
The role will oversee all accounting activities, month-end closing, statutory reporting, taxation, treasury support and internal controls while serving as the key finance contact for local management and external stakeholders. The position will work closely with the Head of Finance in Singapore to ensure timely financial reporting, compliance and alignment with regional finance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and Inventory Accounting.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing.
Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packages for submission to Singapore regional finance.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial records.
Monitor revenue recognition, cost allocations and accounting treatments in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
Statutory Compliance & Taxation
Ensure compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
Prepare and review VAT, Corporate Income Tax, Foreign Contractor Tax and other statutory filings.
Coordinate and manage annual statutory audits and tax audits.
Maintain strong working relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, banks and regulatory bodies.
Keep management informed of changes in accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
Monitor cash flow position and prepare cash forecasts.
Ensure effective management of accounts receivable collections and overdue balances.
Oversee supplier payments and optimize working capital.
Review inventory valuation, inventory aging and provisioning requirements.
Support treasury and banking activities as required.
General Administration & Employee Support
Review and administer employee expense claims and reimbursements, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper supporting documentation
Support recruitment coordination, employee communication and employee welfare activities as required.
Manage office administration matters, including office supplies, facility arrangements, vendor coordination and general administrative support.
Liaise with external service providers such as payroll agents, insurance providers, landlords and government agencies on administrative matters.
Provide general administrative support to local management and the Singapore regional office.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field from a recognized university.
Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA Vietnam) is an advantage.
Solid understanding of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and local tax regulations.
Good command of English, both written and spoken preferred.
