About the Role
We are looking for an AI Backend Engineer to build the services and workflows behind our AI-powered products. You will work on problems that may not have predefined solutions: clarifying requirements, researching approaches, testing assumptions, and delivering reliable systems.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data models for AI and SaaS products.
Develop application workflows and integrate AI/LLM services with business systems.
Research technologies and technical approaches; build prototypes when needed to validate a solution.
Investigate issues across APIs, databases, integrations, and system performance.
Improve the reliability, security, and scalability of backend systems.
Work with
Product Owners, BAs, QA, and engineers to clarify requirements and deliver features end to end.
Explain technical decisions, document key findings, and contribute to code reviews.
Requirements
5-8 years of experience in backend software development.
Strong hands-on experience with at least one of [protected info], Go, or Python.
Experience designing APIs and working with relational or NoSQL databases.
Strong problem-solving skills: able to investigate unfamiliar problems, identify root causes, compare options, and implement practical solutions.
Ability to research new technologies independently and apply what you learn to product development.
Comfortable working with evolving requirements and asking questions to clarify business needs.
Understanding of authentication, authorization, security fundamentals, Git, and code review.
Nice to Have
Experience building AI-powered applications or integrating LLM APIs.
Experience with RAG, vector databases, search, or document processing.
Experience with Docker, CI/CD, cloud services, message queues, or background jobs.
Experience with SaaS, ERP, or enterprise software.
