Job Summary
We are looking for a
Fresher/Junior AI Scientist to join our growing AI team. You will contribute to AI/GenAI projects that restructure unstructured data into structured datasets, and apply AI to automate business workflows-especially in insurance claims and healthcare operations.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Product/Engineering teams to design and build AI-powered solutions for document understanding, data extraction, structuring, and analytics.
Support development and deployment of ML/DL models for prediction, anomaly detection, personalization, and operational decision support.
Contribute to GenAI-based pipelines (LLMs/VLMs) to reconstruct documents into structured data, standardize fields/terminology, and enable downstream automation.
Participate in building AI-driven workflow automation (e.g., triage, routing, validation, fraud signals, rule + model hybrid decisioning).
Preprocess and analyze large-scale datasets; improve data quality, labeling strategies, and model performance.
Stay updated with modern AI research (LLMs, VLMs, RAG, agentic workflows) and propose practical improvements for production systems.
Participate in code reviews, model evaluations, experiment tracking, and testing to ensure reliable deliverables.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong foundation in linear algebra, probability/statistics, Machine Learning and Deep Learning; familiarity with CV, NLP, Time Series, or multimodal learning.
Proficiency in Python and PyTorch; working knowledge of Scikit-learn, Linux, Git, REST/FastAPI, and Docker.
Understanding of modern LLM/VLM
application engineering: Hugging Face/Transformers or equivalent, prompt/instruction design, structured outputs, tool/function calling, and context management.
Understanding of RAG and retrieval systems: embeddings, chunking, vector search, reranking, grounding, and Knowledge Graph integration.
Ability to build evaluation datasets and regression tests; perform error analysis and measure model/system quality with task-appropriate metrics.
Basic production awareness: GPU inference, latency/throughput/memory/cost trade-offs, logging, testing, and reproducible experiments.
Soft Skills & Startup Fit
Comfortable in a fast-paced startup; proactive, adaptable, and willing to learn fast.
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred (Not Required)
Model adaptation/optimization: LoRA/PEFT/QLoRA, distillation, and quantization (e.g., 4/8-bit, AWQ/GPTQ).
Inference/serving with vLLM, SGLang, TensorRT-LLM, or equivalent; batching, caching, and GPU utilization.
Exposure to agentic workflows: tool use, MCP, state/memory, guardrails, human-in-the-loop, and workflow orchestration.
Familiarity with GenAI evaluation/observability and MLOps (e.g., MLflow/LangSmith/OpenTelemetry, CI/CD, cloud deployment); healthcare/insurance or document AI experience is a plus.
