Responsibilities
Role purpose
Leading, strategizing and implementing the transport requirements to ensure smooth and effective transport operations to achieve the set objectives, targets, and goals within the set budget.

  • Implement operational strategies within the scope of responsibility
  • Understand and drive optimal performance within determined scope of Transport execution.
  • Execute improvement initiatives within our transport operations to achieve overall targets.
Customer / Stakeholder
  • Maintain professional relationship with internal stakeholders
  • Is accountable to his/her direct superior for the delivery of operational and financial results under responsibility
  • Meet and communicate with internal stakeholders and customers where applicable on a regular basis in order to understand and fulfill their requirements
  • Provide leadership support to operational teams
  • Provide support and coordination to peers on the implementation of company policies, programs and initiatives required of his/her involvement
  • Leading with respect & result.
Problem Complexity / Process
  • Lead the Transport Management System (TMS), Centralized Control Tower & Route Optimizer implementation from an operations perspective.
  • Be logical and data driven in understanding problems and developing practical solutions to those problems.
  • Coordinate and control the transport activities in specific sites as per responsibility
  • Recommend an organizational structure which clearly outlines responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Execute KPIs, targets, and goals for monitoring and evaluating operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure that appropriate operations-related information is correctly and efficiently stored and processed
  • Controls the effective use of the resources in order to meet optimal budgets
  • Ensure that DHL comply with prevailing legal and statutory requirements in all aspects
  • Develop a culture of quality, service excellence, and cost consciousness
  • Supervise the use of all assets and equipment under scope to ensure that they are in good working condition and sufficiently available
  • Ensure that the employees comply with the rules, regulations, instructions, orders or measures relating to work safety.
  • Check the performances of the place of operations according to the work plan, project or measures on work safety.
  • Comply with company HSE policy and procedures.
People - Management
  • Understand & drive performance improvement through engaging people.
  • Be an empathic leader, understanding the needs of people
  • A strong change leader with the ability to "influence" people to be involved in the change journey
  • Being a guide/coach to develop people in multiple aspects of their professional career.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to all staff within the scope of responsibility
  • Ensure the promotion of discipline amongst employees within the scope of responsibility
  • Oversee overall people processes within the scope of responsibility to ensure compliance with Human Resource policies
  • Manage staffing levels and schedules and assigns work to subordinates
  • Coordinate with the HR Department in the recruitment and selection process of operational positions
  • Help to develop and evaluate performance targets and goals
  • Support subordinates in training and development needs
  • Promote career development
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in transport or distribution operations, ideally in contract logistics or 3PL
  • Background in network planning, transport operations, project management
  • Solid knowledge of transport management and transport planning
  • Good understanding of logistics operations
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate teams
