Job Description
1. Production Planning & Execution
• Assist the Production Manager in planning, organizing and controlling all sewing production
activities to ensure production targets, delivery schedules and customer requirements are
achieved.
• Monitor daily production performance across multiple sewing lines and ensure production plans are
executed effectively.
• Coordinate manpower, machines and materials to maximize production capacity and operational
efficiency.
• Drive production recovery plans when output falls below target.
2. Operations Management
• Manage and supervise multiple Sewing Supervisors and Team Leaders to ensure standardized
production operations.
• Monitor line performance, capacity utilization, efficiency and WIP control.
• Review production bottlenecks and implement timely corrective actions.
• Ensure production processes comply with approved SOPs and company standards.
3. People Leadership & Organization Development
• Lead, coach and develop Sewing Supervisors, Team Leaders and key production personnel.
• Build a high-performance production organization through coaching, succession planning and
performance management.
• Evaluate manpower requirements and support recruitment, training and employee development.
• Foster teamwork, discipline and employee engagement within the production department.
4. Productivity & Continuous Improvement
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce labor cost and improve
manufacturing efficiency.
• Analyze production data, identify losses and implement improvement projects.
• Promote Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and Standard Work throughout the sewing department.
• Work closely with IE to improve line balancing, manpower utilization and production capacity.
5. Quality Management
• Ensure all sewing operations comply with customer specifications and quality standards.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
• Reduce defects, rework, repair and customer complaints through systematic improvement
activities.
• Promote quality awareness and accountability across all sewing lines.
6. Safety & Equipment Management
• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure all employees follow machine safety procedures.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability, preventive maintenance and
machine availability.
• Support investment and implementation of new machinery and production technology.
7. Material & Production Control
• Coordinate with Planning, Warehouse,
Purchasing and Technical departments to ensure production
readiness.
• Monitor material availability, WIP inventory and production progress.
• Minimize production losses caused by material shortages, machine downtime or process
interruptions.
8. Cross-functional Coordination
• Work closely with IE, Technical, Quality, Planning, Warehouse, Maintenance and Engineering
departments to support production objectives.
• Support new product introduction, pilot production and process validation.
• Participate in cross-functional improvement projects and manufacturing optimization initiatives.
9. Reporting & Performance Management
• Review daily, weekly and monthly production KPIs including Output, Efficiency, Productivity,
Quality, Delivery, Labor Cost and Safety.
• Prepare production performance reports and present improvement actions to the Production
Manager and senior management.
• Monitor departmental budgets and support cost reduction initiatives.
10. Other Duties
• Act on behalf of the Production Manager when assigned.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Production Manager or senior management.
Minimum Academic Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Professional Requirement:
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
• Experience in garment, furniture, automotive or electronics manufacturing is highly preferred
Experience in supervisor role in manufacturing environment (preferred):
Garment / Soft goods / Furniture / Mattress / Cushion / Footwear
• Candidates from other industries are acceptable provided they have experience working in factories with a high level of machinery, automation, and production equipment.
Knowledge, Skill Requirement:
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to supervise multiple production lines and manpower allocation.
• Good understanding of production processes, productivity improvement and quality control.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination across departments.
• Familiar with ERP/MES systems.
• Good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement is preferred.
• Ability to analyze production data and make improvement plans.
