We are seeking an Audio Visual Technician who is pivotal in managing and operating the audio-visual and multimedia aspects within the school. This role involves setting up, maintaining, and ensuring the smooth operation of all AV equipment used in educational settings, including classrooms, assemblies, and special events. The technician provides crucial support to enhance teaching, learning, and presentation experiences through effective use of technology. The position will report to the Technology Manager, and work closely with team members as well as other departments of the School.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Setting up and configuring audio-visual equipment for classes, presentations, and events, ensuring all systems are operational and meet the event's requirements.
• Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing AV equipment, including projectors, microphones, speakers, and video conferencing systems, to minimize downtime and ensure high-quality performance.
• Managing the inventory of AV equipment, including regular checks and maintenance schedules to ensure all items are in good working condition.
• Collaborating closely with the Technology Manager and Tech Support team to integrate AV technologies with the school's broader IT infrastructure and support initiatives.
• Training staff and students on the proper use of audio-visual equipment, promoting self-sufficiency and ensuring effective utilization of technology in educational activities.
• Staying abreast of the latest trends and advancements in AV technology to recommend upgrades and new acquisitions that can enhance the educational experience.
• Providing technical support during school events, managing sound, lighting, and video displays to ensure events run smoothly and professionally.
• Coordinating with external vendors for large events or specialized equipment needs, ensuring external services meet the school's standards and requirements.
