Job Purpose
Lead quality engineering for complex initiatives and specialist domains. Set the test approach, govern delivery, and combine test leadership with business analysis to ensure end-to-end quality across manual and automated testing.
Key Accountabilities
(1)- Automation & Performance Test Strategyy
- Lead automation and performance quality engineering for complex technology initiatives.
- Define automation and performance test strategy, scope, approach, quality gates, and release readiness criteria.
- Own and improve automation frameworks, reusable test assets, test data, environments, execution quality, and maintainability.
- Design and oversee performance testing for critical business journeys, APIs, integrations, services, and system components.
- Review automation coverage, performance results, defect trends, test evidence, and release risks to provide actionable quality recommendations.
(2) - Requirements Analysis & Business Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Business, BA, DevOps, and vendors to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, APIs, data flows, integrations, and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business and technical requirements into automation scope, performance scenarios, test data needs, and quality risks.
- Identify quality, performance, integration, and release risks early, and drive alignment on mitigation actions.
- Support UAT/PAT and release readiness through defect insights, quality reporting, and go/no-go recommendations.
(3) - Quality Improvement
- Lead quality delivery across squads, vendors, and stakeholders with strong focus on automation, performance, and engineering efficiency.
- Coach QE team members on automation practices, performance testing approach, test design, defect quality, and risk-based testing.
- Drive continuous improvement in automation coverage, performance testing maturity, reporting quality, and defect prevention.
- Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, performance findings review, and risk-based quality decision-making.
- Promote a quality-first engineering culture and improve release confidence across delivery teams.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
- English proficiency in line with TCB requirements.
- At least 8 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering, with practical experience in one or more areas such as manual, automation, API, web, mobile, data, or performance testing.
- At least 1 year of experience as a test team lead or QA lead.
- Highly proficient in least one language: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or equivalent.
- Proficient in SQL and test-data validation skills with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or another RDBMS, or one of the NoSQL DB.
Experience with testing and relevant tools, such as:
- API: Postman, Insomnia, or SoapUI;
- UI automation: Selenium or Katalon;
- Performance: JMeter, k6, or Gatling;
- Frameworks: Karate + Playwright;
- Good knowledge of Git and CI/CD test execution.
- Experience organizing, implementing, and managing test activities.
- Experience working and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong planning, work management, and execution skills.
- Cloud (AWS, k8s,...) and AI knowledge, AI-assisted testing, and experience across both performance and automation are advantages. Candidates specializing in one area must demonstrate the foundation and commitment to perform in the other; manual-only candidates should bring senior-level or test-lead capability and be willing to build automation skills.
