As a Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building the systems that power our next generation of commerce solutions.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team. You will design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure server-side applications that power our products and services. The ideal candidate is passionate about building efficient systems, has strong problem-solving skills, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build high-concurrency backend services using Go or Java to support global e-commerce scale.
- Develop and optimize AI-powered search features, including vector-based semantic search and integration with LLM-driven workflows.
- Build and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability and optimized performance for large-scale media assets.
- Implement event-driven architectures and microservices that communicate via high-performance message brokers.
- Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment in a containerized environment.
- Collaborate on the design of complex database schemas (Postgres) and search index mappings (OpenSearch) to ensure data integrity and query efficiency.
Your Skills and Experience
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of backend development experience. We are also open to exceptional early-career engineers with strong technical foundations.
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or Java.
- Experience building and operating cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Experience working with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with modern observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
- Experience working with search technologies such as OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
- Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and high-concurrency applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building scalable products.
- Good English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within regional teams.
Preferred Skills (Optional):
- Experience with Vector Databases (e.g. OpenSearch Vector Engine).
- Knowledge of building and optimizing Digital Asset Management (DAM) or content delivery systems.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CDK.
