The Job
- Collecting data from various sources. Streamlining data collection methods to create automated and easy-to-use routines.
- Analyse collected data and put it into a format others can easily interpret.
- Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
- Design, develop and maintain ETL solutions for the data warehouse.
- Design, develop and maintain business reports for other departments.
- Design and write queries to extract data for ad hoc requests from other departments.
- Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies.
Your Skills and Experience
Key skills
- Advanced SQL proficiency, design database schema tables, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and indices to meet the application performance requirement.
- Strong SQL or Excel skills, good experience in reporting tools such as MS Reporting Services, Crystal Reports
- Expertise in data architecture, including data modelling, database design and development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
- Familiar with Star/Snowflake schema, dimensional modelling
- Experience in building robust data pipelines and ETL processes, preferably using AWS technologies such as Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, Athena, MSK/Kafka, Kinesis, Streaming Glue, AWS Database Migration Service, and Step Functions.
- Strong knowledge of business intelligence (BI) platforms, with experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing BI dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making.
- High-level experience managing large-scale databases, including designing and optimising data flows and storage solutions.
- Proven ability to work with large datasets and relational database systems, ensuring data integrity and performance.
Nicw-to-have skills
- IELTS 6.0 or equivalent would be beneficial.
- Experience working in the payments and financial services industries.
- 3-4 years of data analysis experience.
- Familiar with Python and No SQL technologies such as Cassandra, DynamoDB.
- Familiar with Datalake or Datamesh architecture.
