JOB SUMMARY
The Developer is the connection between the Design Team/PLM/ Sample Room/ Production Team/ factories and raw material suppliers. Responsible for the transition of new products from the Development process into Buy Ready Samples. The Developer to work with Development Director to ensure product is developed fully and accurately then transfer to factories with all the details needed to produce the product to Ospreys standards.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inhouse Development (Design & Sample Room Interaction)
• Ensure Osprey /Hydro Flask standards of build and fit are installed into design prototypes prior to release to the factories
• Co-ordinate with
Graphic Designer on artworks
Direct Development (Design & Factories)
• Ensure the Design's Ideas are well received by factories sample room into the prototypes
• Ensure Osprey/Hydro Flask standard of build and fit are working well onto Prototype
• Ensure Prototype to meet the deadline
• Co-ordinate with Factories and Osprey Graphic
Designer on artworks
• Co-ordinate with Osprey costing team for the pattern keeping/updating
• Co-ordinate with T1 and Costing team on providing BOM in time
Raw Materials
• Manage color reference swatches and library
• Check Color Fabric Trims (CFT) to ensure they are all relevant
• Ensure the material qualified standard
• Do lab-dip with all raw material suppliers
• Work with head team for labdip approval
• Material prepares for shooting samples and counter samples
• Manage SMS /Bulk MOQ issues with suppliers/factories
• Manage providing inventory fabric and work with PLM to use them up
• Providing the draft FOB for remnant bag
• Work with Marketing team for special hangtag of DTC/SMU/Collaboration
Specifications
• Manage the creation and issuance of Prototype specification (Direct development / Collaborations/DTC /SMU), Development Specification, Sales Sample Specifications, Buy Ready specification and Production Specifications, Specification for Sewing Sparepart (if any)
• Specification drawings to be managed
• Ensure Specifications contain any unique construction
• Maintain a production specification on share point
Industrialization
• Full production packet to be passed to Production Partner (Spec Templates, Master file, approved strike off) ensuring accuracy
• Work with Graphics Designer team for strike off (sublimation/Digital Printing) approval
• Work with suppliers/ factories for material/ colors strike off approved for SMS and Production
• Full manage the SMS inline and final inspection
• Co-ordinate Show Samples following final changes
• Complete final changes for production (including sizing)
• Do Buy Ready sample inspection and comment. Full manage the BRS inline and final inspection.
• Initiate and hold Buy ready sample meetings with factories
• Responsible for the issuance of Inline Change Requests and associated follow-up.
• Co-ordinate testing sample if yes
• Manage the material MOQ with T1
General
• Co-ordinate seasonal product Photography with external contractor & US Marketing Team ensuring timely delivery of images
• Manages image repair, color checking, logoing, etc
• Arrange spare parts list to send to Distributors

The Developer is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out responsibilities consistent with general guidance of the Developer Manager. The Developer is directly responsible for reporting to the Development Director.

• Education, experience and aptitude to meet position requirements.
• A trustworthy, clear communicator with excellent English Language abilities and a reliable confidentiality record.
• Years of related professional experience: 3-5. Background to work for backpack branch is preferred.
• College Degree preferred and relevant experience. Prior experience in International Companies a distinct advantage.
Travel: Ability to travel as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
• Compensation: Salary dependent on experience and qualifications
• Paid Time Off (PTO): 15 days

REQUIRED MEETINGS AND TIME/TRAVEL
Participation in all department and general company meetings/functions, and others relating to special assignments, as required. May be required to work outside of normal work hours or attend offsite training/business functions.
