The EHS Specialist exists to ensure the site operates in a safe, legally compliant, and environmentally responsible manner by translating regulatory and corporate EHS requirements into effective day-to-day practices. This role supports manufacturing and operational teams by identifying workplace and environmental risks, driving corrective and preventive actions, maintaining required permits and records, and delivering practical EHS guidance that reduces incidents, protects employees, minimizes environmental impact, and supports reliable business operations.
MAIN DUTIES:
Support the implementation and administration of environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
Monitor compliance with applicable EHS regulations, permits, standards, and internal requirements, and recommend actions to address gaps.
Conduct routine inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and verify effective control measures.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances; assist in root cause analysis and track corrective and preventive actions to closure.
Coordinate and deliver EHS training, communication, and awareness initiatives to employees and contractors.
Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, permits, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Support environmental programs, including waste management, hazardous materials control, emissions, and sustainability initiatives, as applicable.
Compile, analyze, and report EHS performance data, trends, and key metrics to support management review and decision-making.
Collaborate with site leadership, supervisors, and employees to strengthen safe work practices and drive continuous improvement.
Assist with emergency preparedness, response planning, drills, and related compliance activities.
Participate to the Safety Star Point Team, EHS TIB and HPT and other events (e.g. kaizen)
Implement Parker software on site (Waste tracker, Reg auditor etc)
Work on all the daily tasks of an EHS.
Contractor management
Back-up of the EHS manager
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
EHS Management System Documentation and Compliance
Output: Up-to-date, compliant HSE procedures, work instructions, and documentation are established and maintained.
Action: Participate in creating, reviewing, and updating HSE procedures, documentation, and instructions to ensure alignment with legal requirements and Parker standards.
Audit and Standards Integration
Output: Successful support of internal and external audits, with Parker EHS standards effectively deployed across the site.
Action: Prepare audit inputs, support audit activities, track findings, and contribute to the integration and sustainment of Parker EHS standards.
Risk and Environmental Impact Assessment
Output: Workplace safety risks and site environmental impacts are identified, assessed, and reduced through prioritized improvement plans.
Action: Evaluate operational risks and environmental aspects, conduct site assessments, and recommend corrective and preventive improvement actions.
Chemical Safety Management
Output: Chemical-related risks are assessed and controlled to ensure safe handling, storage, and use of substances on site.
Action: Carry out chemical risk assessments, review safety data, and support implementation of appropriate control measures and compliance practices.
Safety Culture and EHS Awareness
Output: A proactive safety and accident prevention culture is developed and sustained across the organization.
Action: Promote EHS awareness through communication, employee engagement, and participation in Safety Star Point Team, EHS TIB, HPT, kaizen, and other site initiatives.
EHS Training and Competence Development
Output: Employees and relevant stakeholders are trained and competent in applicable EHS requirements and safe work practices.
Action: Coordinate, deliver, or support EHS training activities, monitor training completion, and help ensure understanding of roles, risks, and controls.
Incident Investigation and Corrective Action
Output: EHS incidents are thoroughly investigated, root causes are identified, and effective corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
Action: Analyze incidents and near misses, lead or support root cause analysis, define corrective actions, and follow up on implementation effectiveness.
Site EHS Operations, Systems, and Leadership Support
Output: Daily EHS activities, digital tools, and management support are delivered effectively to maintain site compliance and operational continuity.
Action: Support routine HSE tasks, implement and maintain Parker software tools such as Waste Tracker and RegAuditor, and act as backup to the EHS Manager when required.

JOBHOLDER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Training in risk assessment, incident investigation, chemical safety, and auditing is advantageous.
2. Experience
At least 2-3 years of experience in an EHS role within an industrial, manufacturing.
Experience supporting risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, and corrective action follow-up.
Exposure to environmental compliance activities, including waste management, chemical product assessment, and regulatory documentation.
Experience delivering or coordinating EHS training and awareness activities.
Familiarity with implementing and maintaining management systems, procedures, and site EHS programs.
Experience working with cross-functional teams such as operations, maintenance, HR, quality, and engineering.
3. Knowledge
Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations applicable to a manufacturing site.
Understanding of risk assessment methodologies, workplace hazard identification, and preventive controls.
Knowledge of incident investigation and root cause analysis methods.
Understanding of chemical risk management, including safety data sheets, labeling, storage, and handling requirements.
Knowledge of environmental aspects and impacts, including waste, emissions, and resource management.
Familiarity with internal and external audit processes and continuous improvement principles.
