Position Objective
The Events & Outreach Manager leads and manages
• school-wide events
• key academic celebrations (e.g. graduation)
• external community outreach initiatives for ISHCMC
• education and engaging programming at ISHCMC for our community, faculty and staff, and parents.
As part of the Community Engagement team the successful candidate will carry the school's voice,
lead with ISHCMC values, and work closely with the ISHCMC communications team to ensure that
events are clearly communicated.
Responsibilities
Events Management
• Build and manage an annual master calendar of daily, weekly, monthly and one-off events,
programs and experiences in partnership with the academic team, operations team and
community organizations
• Create event management / operational plans for whole school events based on timelines,
budget and school need
• Conduct market research for sourcing and information gathering
• Engage proactively to handling issues and troubleshooting any emerging problems
• Propose ideas to improve services and event quality
• Collaborate with facilities and oversee all event details such as decor, catering,
entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment
• Commit to compliance with safeguarding, insurance, legal, health and safety obligations for
all events
• Have enthusiasm for collaborative work with other ISHCMC teams, such as Communications
to promote, publicize and drive attendance to events
• Provide feedback and clear reporting to stakeholders upon requests
Program Development & Partnership Building (Outreach)
The successful candidate will strengthen and continue to build on ISHCMC's current network and
develop new community partnerships:
• Identify events and opportunities within the ISHCMC network that may be relevant to the
ISHCMC community
• Develop long-term partnerships with community groups which support effective outreach and
engagement.
• Ensure community outreach engagement initiatives align with ISHCMC Mission & Vision
• Build ISHCMC brand by having our partnership signage at various businesses throughout An
Khanh area (Thao Dien and An Phu) and downtown Saigon
• Build upon our current "partnership box" of vouchers, gifts and welcome notes provided to
our new families joining ISHCMC - for new families to engage in local businesses
• Re-build Rhino Academy, our platform to engage parents in learning, and re-launch for
Academic Year 2026-27 - courses from languages to creative arts, parent/child duo learning
experiences and active physical health engagements such as pickleball, tennis, softball and
other activities. Ensure clear documentation and guidelines
• Conceptualize an ISHCMC Speaker Series for our community to hear from thought leaders
• Source experts and speakers from a wide variety of topics relevant and engaging to the
ISHCMC Community
Community Engagement
• Engage as part of the Community Engagement (CE) management team to support CE
initiatives beyond events and outreach
• Collaborate with PTO and community groups to provide effective programming for key
whole-school events (e.g. Celebration of Cultures, Rhino Family Fun Night)
• Submit event reporting and information of activities to line manager (Director of
Community Engagement)
• Support the PTO team by staying connected with a variety of members of the community to
build rapport, get feedback and implement communication strategies
• Performs other tasks as requested by the Director of Community Engagement
Communications & Customer Service
• Contribute to high quality content derived from Events and Outreach in alignment with the
school's vision and values.
• Provide relevant content to the Communications team regarding events and news pertaining
to ISHCMC communities
• Work closely with other departments/peers to develop, coordinate and maintain high levels of
communication about Events and Outreach within the Community, and with excellence in the
delivery of services
• Foster and engage current ISHCMC network and community and continue to provide excellent
customer service

● This role requires an individual with more than 5 years school or event management experience who has knowledge in message development and execution gained in an environment where they have worked across multiple channels with multiple audiences.
● Highly organized and possesses effective time management skills. A self-starter who is a quick study and can take ownership of determined tasks and deliver them to high standards.
● Strong communicator with excellent customer service experience and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to be empathetic with a school community to build strong relationships and tap into the needs of parents so that communications are relevant and impactful.
● A committed and loyal individual, who is prepared to work the necessary hours to meet deadlines.
● Patient and thoughtful mentor to a team of direct reports with a collaborative style.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in business administration, Education, Event Organization and/or related fields.
● Possess 3-5 years' experience working within an International School setting.
● Possess 3-5 years of professional experience in community development and related experience in the education field.
● Advanced English language skills (reading, writing and verbal).
● Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure.
● Possess strong customer service, verbal communication and listening skills.
