ABOUT THE COMPANY

We are a mid-size soft commodity processing company operating a manufacturing facility in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. Our facility runs multiple shifts with approximately 40 workers per shift and reports to a Group Headquarters in Hong Kong. We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance function of the Vietnamese operation and act as the key financial link between the facility and the Group.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Based at our Dong Nai facility with regular travel to and from Ho Chi Minh City, the Finance Manager holds full responsibility for the financial management, statutory compliance, and internal control environment of the Vietnamese entity. The role combines statutory accounting and tax compliance with commercial finance - budgeting, product costing, cash management, and Group reporting - and works in close partnership with the facility's senior leadership on the ground.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management & Reporting
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process; deliver accurate and timely financial statements to Group Finance in Hong Kong
Prepare Group reporting packs, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis in line with Group deadlines and formats
Manage the annual statutory audit and act as the primary contact for external auditors and the outsourced accounting service provider
Budgeting, Planning & Cost Control
Prepare the facility's annual budget and rolling forecasts in coordination with the local leadership team and Group HQ
Monitor actual performance against budget; identify variances, explain drivers, and recommend corrective action
Develop and maintain product costing models covering raw material, conversion, wastage, and overhead
Analyse yields, processing efficiency, and cost per unit; work with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities
Review capital expenditure proposals and support investment appraisal
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure full compliance with Vietnamese tax obligations - VAT, CIT, PIT, FCT, and transfer pricing documentation
Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT refund claims and manage the process through to receipt
Manage tax authority inspections, queries, and audits; maintain complete supporting documentation
Monitor changes in Vietnamese accounting, tax, and foreign exchange regulations and assess their impact on the business
Treasury & Cash Management
Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and bank relationships
Oversee foreign currency exposures arising from imported raw materials and exported finished goods
Control payment runs and ensure adequate liquidity for operational and statutory obligations
Manage intercompany balances and settlements with Group entities
Internal Control & Risk
Design, implement, and maintain internal controls over inventory, procurement, payments, payroll, and revenue
Support Group internal audit reviews and implement agreed remediation actions
Safeguard company assets through effective stock count, fixed asset, and cash control procedures
Commercial & Operational Partnership
Act as finance business partner to the facility's leadership, providing analysis to support commercial and operational decisions
Reconcile import/export costs, customs duties, and logistics charges to the accounts

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Vietnamese Chief Accountant certificate (Chứng chỉ
Kế toán trưởng) required, or eligibility to obtain it
ACCA, CPA (Vietnam or international), or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred
Experience
Minimum 6-10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 2-3 years in a finance management role
Proven experience in a manufacturing, food processing, agribusiness, or commodity processing environment
Demonstrated experience in product/factory cost accounting and inventory control
Track record of managing Vietnamese statutory compliance, tax filings, and VAT refunds
Experience reporting into a foreign parent or regional headquarters
Exposure to import/export operations, customs, and foreign currency transactions
Skills & Competencies
Strong technical command of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and Vietnamese tax law; familiarity with IFRS an advantage
Proficient with ERP and accounting systems; advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
Commercially minded - able to translate financial data into practical recommendations for operations
Strong internal control mindset with the confidence to challenge and escalate where required
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across statutory and Group timetables
Effective people manager, able to develop a small team
High integrity and professional discretion
Language
Fluent in both Vietnamese and English (written and spoken) - essential for managing the local team and reporting to Hong Kong HQ
Other
Based in or willing to commute from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai Province on a regular basis
Valid Vietnamese work authorisation (or eligibility to obtain)
