Company Description
GELEX Group, founded in 1990, has grown from a state-owned enterprise into one of Vietnam's leading multi-sector investment groups. Operating under a modern holdings model, GELEX brings together strong businesses such as GELEX Electricity JSC and GELEX Infrastructure JSC, along with trusted brands including Viglacera, CADIVI, EMIC, THIBIDI, HEM, and CFT. The group is driven by a culture of trust, collaboration, and shared ambition, emphasizing both strategic growth and people development.
GELEX focuses on four key pillars - high-tech industry, real estate, infrastructure, and finance - to support Vietnam's next phase of growth. Its long-term vision is to become Vietnam's top investment group, leading with growth, efficiency, and sustainability while contributing to the country's future.
Role Description The Finance Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hanoi.
This role sits within the Group Finance Department but carries an investment mandate: rather than closing books, it allocates capital. It owns portfolio performance management and capital efficiency analysis across GELEX's member companies, and serves as the Executive Board's analytical partner in decisions on capital increase, restructuring, divestment, and appraisal of entry into new industries within a parent-subsidiary holdings model.
Core responsibilities
Portfolio management - build and operate the monitoring framework (ROIC, IRR, EBITDA margin, free cash flow) for periodic management review; raise early warnings on member companies or projects with declining performance and propose remedial options.
Modeling & scenario analysis - develop financial models and scenarios supporting capital increase, restructuring, divestment or resource reallocation; analyze cash flow, capital structure and sensitivity under varying business assumptions; assess industry outlook with a defensible methodology as the basis for long-term capital allocation.
Appraisal of new opportunities - evaluate new projects, business lines and industries with a clear invest-or-stop recommendation; lead valuation, risk and return assessment (IRR, NPV, payback) for investment, CAPEX, M&A and divestment cases; coordinate with specialist functions throughout due diligence.
Advisory to the Executive Board - convert data into decision-ready insight: identify the issue, structure the options, then present and defend recommendations before the CEO, CFO and Executive Board; standardize portfolio data and reporting; drive digitalization of analytical tools (BI, EPM); manage, coach and evaluate the department's specialist team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Economics or Business Administration.
8-12 years in Finance - Investment, including at least 3-5 years in an equivalent managerial role.
Proven involvement in live investment decisions - direct participation in project or deal appraisal that supported a capital increase or divestment outcome.
Strong analytical toolkit: financial modeling, cash flow analysis, capital efficiency metrics (ROIC/IRR/NPV), and scenario analysis under varying business assumptions.
Professional English - able to work with international-standard documentation and write management reports.
Strong critical-thinking and presentation skills before senior leadership.
Preferred: CFA (Level 2-3), ACCA or CMA; experience restructuring an investment function at one or two organizations; background from Big4 (Deal Advisory / Transaction Services) or Investment Banking (IB / M&A Advisory) followed by an equivalent in-house role; exposure to multi-sector groups or holdings structures with a group-level portfolio management function.
Mindset: resilient and adaptive in a high-variable environment, with a genuine investor's lens - reading numbers as capital allocation and value creation, not as record-keeping.
What We Offer
Highly competitive, negotiable compensation benchmarked to international standards, structured to actual capability.
Direct professional impact - your analysis and recommendations form the primary basis for the Group's investment, capital increase, restructuring and divestment decisions.
Multi-month performance bonuses at major holidays; full statutory insurance on actual salary; premium PTI health card for management level.
