POSITION DESCRIPTION
Western Sydney University Vietnam is looking for potential full-time lecturers for different subjects who are passionate about education and has a strong academic background. The full-time lecturers will be expected to make a substantial contribution to teaching, curriculum development and research quality as well as engaging in administrative and other activities associated with the School.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Teaching and Learning
• Participate actively in teaching and enhance the interactions between teaching and research to facilitate the transition of students to postgraduate study.
• Coordinate, prepare, deliver, and evaluate relevant teaching subjects, including feedback from students.
• Ensure the design, development, delivery, and assessment of subjects offered, and the learning resources associated with these.
• Respond promptly to student enquiries and provide feedback on assessments as required.
• Support preparation of programs for external accreditation where relevant.
• Develop and maintain appropriate online environments for teaching and assessment materials for the subject.
• Initiate and implement subject improvements to enhance learning and teaching quality, with advice from the Director, Program Manager, Discipline and Subject Coordinators.
• Communicate with students on subject development and changes to subject resulting from student feedback.
• Moderate the application of standards and quality of marking within a subject.
• Apply the School policy to deal with academic matters including academic dishonesty cases, applications for extension to due date for assessment and formal/informal review of grades.
2. Curriculum Development
• Contribute to curriculum development for the program and discipline.
• Prepare the Subject Guide and other related subject information in accordance with the directions of the Director and
Academic Manager.
3. Research
• Actively participate in research relevant to the School's profile.
• Produce high-quality research outputs and disseminate them in highly regarded research outlets.
• Apply for grants as appropriate.
• Collaborate on high impact research projects across the University and with external research organisations, industry, community organisations and government.
• Identify, attract, and develop quality research students to enhance the outcomes of business studies.
4. Administration
• Participate in School and University student engagement and outreach activities.
• Participate in meetings as required in the School and the University.
• Contribute to the School and University community through regular participation in activities.
• Maintain appropriate records regarding student assessment and results.
• Subject coordination duties where required, including supporting casual staff where relevant.
• Assist in resolving other operational and administrative matters associated with the subject, such as timetabling matters, in cooperation with the Academic Manager, Subject Coordinator, and operation team.
5. General
• Actively pursue professional development to ensure and maintain contemporary discipline knowledge.
• Facilitate and maintain good communication with Academic and Professional staff and students.
6. Undertake other duties as directed
• Other duties relevant to the classification level.
