Job Summary:
The
Merchandiser is responsible for sourcing and developing suppliers, obtaining quotations, following up on sample development, and managing the entire order process from start to finish.
This role works directly with factories and closely coordinates with Sales, Technical, and QC teams to ensure products meet customer requirements in terms of quality, pricing, and delivery timeline.
Job Description:
1. Sourcing & Supplier Management
• Source, evaluate, and develop suitable suppliers/factories.
• Work directly with factories to obtain quotations, materials, and production information.
• Analyze quotations and cost structures to support Sales.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance in terms of pricing, quality, and delivery.
• Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
2. Sample Management & Product Development
• Follow up on sample development based on customer requirements.
• Coordinate sample revisions and approvals.
• Ensure accurate communication of sample information across departments.
3. Order Execution & Follow-up
• Place orders with suppliers and confirm pricing, lead time, and technical requirements.
• Monitor production progress to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate and resolve issues during order execution (quality, delays, etc.).
4. Reporting, Coordination & Operations Support
• Coordinate with Sales, QC, and Technical teams to ensure smooth order execution.
• Arrange shipments, verify documents, and track delivery status.
• Monitor order performance, cost, and delivery timelines; prepare reports.
• Support new product development and propose improvements.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related fields.
• At least 2 years of experience in sourcing and order follow-up in the furniture industry (mandatory).
• Experience working directly with factories, with the ability to source and evaluate suppliers.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with suppliers/factories.
• Ability to work independently and handle tasks end-to-end.
• High sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel).
• Willing to travel to factories when required.
