The General Manager (Customer Segment) is a senior executive role which involves overseeing the full production of work from our staff to our customers.
Reporting to the Vice President, the GM must ensure a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of our customers and continues to grow and develop our staff
Roles, Responsibilities & Typical Activities
The GM is a broad role and specific responsibilities that will vary between divisions. However, the predominant requirements include:
1. developing and implementing strategic initiatives in conjunction with MiTek Customer segment leaders to develop new business opportunities and achieve company growth budgets
2. monitoring, analyzing, and improving the current system of production - and determining appropriate strategies for positive development
3. being responsible for effective and efficient workforce planning through the identification and rectification of skill gaps and resource level imbalances
4. liaising and interacting with all team members to ensure continuous improvement
5. communicating with all customers and other stakeholders to the highest level of quality applicable, including growing our customer base
6. positively and proactively participating as a member of the MiTek Senior Management Team (SMT), united in the pursuit of operational excellence; liaise and interact with other SMT team members to ensure continuous improvement
7. supporting recruiting, training, and personal development of our staff, including tracking, measuring, and improving staff performance
8. working with MiTek Customer Segment leaders to further develop business within our customer channels
9. liaising with existing customers to further develop the relationship through continued value creation to retain and enhance their business
10. relationship-development with new customers globally and ensuring that appropriate resources are allocated where required to maximize business development for MiTek's long-term sustainable success
11. providing coaching, mentoring and support to the Operations Manager(s) and Team Managers to achieve an integrated, employee-orientated, high-performance culture for the Operations team
12. liaising with, support, and ensure that adequate training and development is provided by the Learning, Development & Performance team for new recruits / trainees and existing staff
13. continuing to grow the MiTek family by supporting the customers and ensuring the highest level of service is provided to all customers
14. other reasonable duties as requested.
Position Characteristics:
• Technical skills
- A deep understanding of the work being done by MiTek and how it pertains to the various industry customers.
- Capability to utilize this skill in undertaking the necessary planning initiatives and ability to track, measure and report results.
- A background and strong knowledge of a range of diverse software developed to support multiple customers across multiple geographies.
• Leadership: Create a positive work environment where all staff are motivated to do their best. Convey confidence in people's ability to prevail over challenges. See the potential in others and take opportunities to apply and develop that potential to reach our goals.
• Take Initiative: Recognize situations that warrant initiative and move forward proactively; ask questions/support without hesitation; reasonably resolves issues, problems, or situations and look to improve.

Encourage joint ownership of goal setting, commitments, and accomplishments and where required, involve everyone on the team.
• Communication skills: Able to communicate effectively and ensure strict communications are kept with other departments to ensure maximum effectiveness of providing good services to the customer.
• Problem Solving: Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently deliver high quality results on-time and on-budget.
• Change management: Change management skills that overcome the fear of change through actively listening to & responding to concerns and further support through concise explanations of actions and expectations.
• Others:
- Effective time management, prioritizing and delegation
- Appropriate conflict management, and the ability to lead, coach, support and motivate the team
- Attention to detail and a personal drive for data and actionable metrics
- Effective decision-making and the ability to promote and improve best practice.
- Solid interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills
Yêu cầu
• Whilst formal university qualifications are desirable, the successful candidate must have 10 years of experience within the construction or related industry with an in-depth knowledge of global building practices and operations.
• An excellent understanding of the operations and capability of construction software relevant to GM's specific division.
• Demonstrated exemplary customer service is critical and would include relevant evidential skills including patience, attentiveness, communication, product knowledge, positive language, and time management.
• Undertaken a leadership role within the Australian / North American / UK & Europe building & construction industry (Including MiTek Vietnam) is mandatory with a focus on residential or commercial construction.
