Key Responsibilities
1. Category Management
Lead and manage all Fresh categories:
Vegetables
Fruits
Fresh meat
Fresh seafood
Frozen products
Develop category strategies to drive sales, profitability, and customer traffic.
Build competitive pricing strategies aligned with hard discount retail principles.
Monitor category performance, sales trends, and margin development.
2. Supplier & Sourcing Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with farms, suppliers, importers, and manufacturers.
Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, rebate programs, and supply agreements.
Source high-quality products with stable supply and competitive costs.
Develop direct sourcing opportunities to improve cost efficiency and freshness.
3. Quality & Food Safety Control
Ensure product freshness, quality standards, and food safety compliance.
Work closely with QA and Operations teams to manage quality issues and corrective actions.
Monitor shrinkage, waste, expiry, and handling standards.
Drive continuous improvement to reduce losses and improve operational efficiency.
4. Inventory & Supply Planning
Coordinate forecasting and replenishment planning with Ordering and Supply Chain teams.
Ensure product availability while minimizing stock loss and overstock risks.
Support seasonal planning and promotional activities.
5. Store Operations Collaboration
Work closely with Operations teams to improve Fresh presentation and in-store execution.
Support store teams on Fresh product handling, merchandising, and sales improvement.
Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and pricing regularly.
6. Team Management
Lead and develop the Fresh category teams:
Fruit
Vegetable
Meat & Fish (Fresh and Frozen)
Build succession planning and talent development within the department.
Set KPIs and monitor team performance.
