- Assists to prepare and update the Information Systems Departmental Operations Manual.
- Keeps software in the Property Management System up to the current release as instructed by the Area IS Manager.
- Provides the appropriate level of professional, courteous and caring service to other employees (internal customers) and other visitors to the division.
- Handles guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst feeding back a prompt follow up.
- Ensures new technology and equipment are embraced, improving productivity whilst taking work out of the system.
- Provides technical assistance, advice to hotel management so as to minimise overhead expenses and maximise productivity in all areas.
- Assists authorised users in relation to operation of the hotel's I.S. system hardware, various modules and supporting personal computers.
- Coordinates timely repair and returns to service providers any faulty systems or items of equipment.
- Assists to establish and implement procedures to ensure backup of data in any I.S. system.
- Assists to set up emergency procedures to continue the operation of the hotel in the event of system failure.
- Establishes necessary security measures to prevent unauthorised access to the I.S. systems.
- Provides technical assistance to internal and external audit employee.
- Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
- Responds to changes in the Information Systems function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
- Proven experience in
IT support, coordination, or a similar role (1-3 years preferred).
- Good knowledge of computer systems, networks, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to respond to after-hours IT emergencies or system failures.
- Knowledge of data backup, recovery, and cybersecurity best practices is an advantage.
