THE ROLE
The primary function of this role is to support the daily activities of the Alumni and Mentoring team in the delivery of mentoring programs that will position students to be successful in clarifying and achieving their career goals, including hosting mentoring events, workshops and seminars, responding to enquiries both via phone and electronically and running communication campaigns to promote mentoring programs
The International Alumni & Mentoring Officer is also responsible for supporting Alumni Relations in the delivery of a range of alumni engagement events, communications and other initiatives in Vietnam and in the region, maintaining accurate alumni information on the RMIT alumni database, as well as administrating various social media and web platforms.
The position will also assist the Careers and Industry Relations activities as and when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administrate and monitor communication channels of alumni and mentoring programs including the online mentoring platform, mailbox, social media and website; respond to general alumni and mentoring enquiries professionally
- Ensure Alumni database is updated and aligned with international database system
- Report on mentoring and alumni statistics and activities when required
- Collaborate closely with peers in Melbourne as well as RMIT Vietnam internal stakeholders including but not limited to the Employment team, Advisory team, Alumni team, Student Life and academic schools to communicate accurately alumni and mentoring policies and seek collaborations for the programs.
- Support the coordination and delivery of mentoring and alumni engagement activities (including but not limited to events, workshops, social activities, networking) at RMIT Vietnam campuses as well as other locations as required (other provinces or cities in Vietnam and/or in Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar depending on the University strategy and transition activities). This includes high level inter-campus administrative support, event planning and other tasks.
- Develop and grow the mentoring program in Singapore in collaboration with team at SIM and with the guidelines of Melbourne alumni team
- Under direction, support the publications, electronic communications and social media, develop and produce marketing material including digital and print content for alumni and mentoring projects
- Undertake general administrative tasks and contribute to careers service projects where relevant
- Represent RMIT Careers team to nurture a positive image and relationships with alumni, students and industry people
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
- At least two years of experience in an administrative or marketing position. Experience in running a mentoring program is desirable although not essential.
- Demonstrated communication and networking skills to support relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including: a diverse student population, employers, industry and professional networks, community organisations and RMIT staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a (virtual) team to reach identified goals.
- Experience in database and website management (experience with other platform like RaiserEdge Nxt, Graduway, or other CRM software is a plus).
- Experience in digital marketing and managing social media communications.
- Excellent IT proficiency skills including the use of Microsoft Office and social media.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS
If English is not your native language then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard at a BULATS Intermediate level (BULATS score 65), equivalent to IELTS (General) 6.0. RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a BULATS test to assess your level of English before an offer of employment can be made.
