Junior Backend Developer

Technical Experiences
Must have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience in backend development using Ruby on Rails, or willingness to transition from another backend language (PHP / [protected info]).
Good understanding of MySQL database design and query optimization.
Familiar with background jobs (Sidekiq), caching (Redis), and deployment (Capistrano, AWS).
Knowledge of RESTful APIs, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, and JSON structures.
Basic knowledge of Linux development environments and version control (Git).
Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving mindset.
Nice to have:
Familiarity with gems such as Devise, Pundit, Rpush, CarrierWave +Fog-AWS, or Stripe.
Experience with RSpec or other testing frameworks.
Exposure to CI/CD automation tools (Capistrano, GitHub Actions).
Understanding of Geo-location or mapping services (Geocoder, RGeo, Fast-Polylines).
Understanding of Microservices and event-driven systems (using Kafka / Karafka / Waterdrop).
Appreciation for clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.
Collaborative mindset and a reliable team player who takes ownership of their work.
Language Skills
Able to communicate and collaborate in English (written and spoken).
Willing to learn and improve communication when working with
Singapore HQ and other markets.
