About the role
We are looking for a Junior UI/UX Designer to join our team and work closely with the CTO, sales and engineering teams to design and improve the applications that power our business.
Our products include point-of-sale, kiosk, loyalty and QR ordering systems, together with the web applications used to configure and operate them. They are used across desktop, mobile, tablet and dedicated hardware, providing opportunities to work on a variety of real-world product design challenges.
This position is ideal for someone who has a good eye for design, a strong interest in user experience and a willingness to learn and grow in a product-focused environment.
You will work alongside experienced team members to turn requirements into intuitive user interfaces, contribute to our design system and help ensure that designs are implemented effectively.
Day to day duties
Design and improve user interfaces for mobile and web applications, including point-of-sale, kiosk, loyalty and QR ordering systems.
Translate business requirements and user needs into user flows, wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes.
Create and maintain UI components and design assets in Figma, following existing design guidelines and standards.
Collaborate with the CTO, sales and engineering teams to understand product requirements and design solutions.
Conduct basic user research and gather feedback to identify usability issues and opportunities for improvement.
Work with
developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and implemented according to the design specifications.
Prepare design documentation, including component specifications, interaction behaviours and basic design annotations.
Review implemented interfaces and provide feedback to help maintain design consistency and usability.
Participate in design reviews, receive feedback and continuously improve design quality.
Requirements
About you
2-3 years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably working on web or mobile applications.
A portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design skills, including application interfaces, user flows, wireframes or interactive prototypes.
Good working knowledge of Figma, including components, auto layout, prototyping and basic design systems.
Understanding of fundamental UI/UX principles, including usability, responsive design, visual hierarchy and consistency.
Basic knowledge of user journey mapping, wireframing and user-centred design processes.
Ability to translate requirements into clear and user-friendly interface designs.
Good attention to detail and willingness to learn about different platforms, devices and user interactions.
Good communication and collaboration skills when working with designers, developers and other stakeholders.
Basic understanding of frontend development concepts (HTML/CSS or component-based frameworks) is a plus.
Proactive attitude, openness to feedback and eagerness to develop design skills in a collaborative environment.
