Ensure assembly processes achieve optimal efficiency, quality, and cost through design, implementation, and continuous improvement and Factory layout update.
MAIN DUTIES:
• Assembly Process Design & Setup
• Analyse product and technical requirements to develop assembly processes.
• Design assembly line layout, determine necessary equipment, jigs, and fixtures.
• Establish standard operating procedures (SOP), cycle time, and line balancing.
• Process Management & Improvement
• Monitor line performance (OEE, takt time, scrap rate).
• Analyse root causes of defects and propose solutions to reduce waste and increase productivity.
• Execute Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma projects to optimize cost and quality.
• Production Support
• Train operators on standard processes and work instructions.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting on the assembly line.
• Coordinate with IQC, SQA, R&D and Maintenance teams to ensure quality and equipment stability.
• Technology Implementation
• Evaluate and propose automation, robotics, or new equipment.
• Conduct trials and validate processes before mass production.
• Reporting & Data Analysis
• Collect production data from assembly lines (OEE, cycle time, scrap rate).
• Analyse performance and quality trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare periodic reports for management and propose optimization solutions.
• Factory Layout Update
• Maintain accurate factory layout drawings and update them when there are changes in production lines or equipment.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure proper arrangement, compliance with safety standards, and optimized production flow.
• Use design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to edit and store layout drawings.
• Propose layout improvements to enhance space utilization and reduce waste.
Qualification:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related fields.
Experience
• 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, assembly line setup, or process/continuous improvement roles.
• Exposure to painting, injection molding, and assembly processes is preferred.
• Practical experience applying Lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, 7 QC tools, Poka-Yoke), Kanban systems, and basic Six Sigma concepts.
Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for layout optimization and jig/fixture design.
• Skilled in data analysis using Excel (Pivot, formulas) and PowerPoint for reporting.
• Solid understanding of OEE, takt time, cycle time analysis, automation concepts, and production efficiency improvement.
