This is the most common definition within manufacturing plants producing automotive and motorcycle parts.
In this role, you are responsible for designing, operating, controlling, and improving the production processes for components such as lock assemblies and wiring harnesses.
Specific tasks related to lock components and wiring harnesses:
Process setup: Designing assembly layouts (formboards), terminal crimping processes, connector overmolding processes, or precision machining processes for biometric/Smartkey lock components.
Production optimization (Kaizen): Applying Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to minimize defect rates (e.g., loose crimps, incorrect wiring routing) and enhance productivity (OEE).
Jig & fixture design: Designing or commissioning electrical circuit test benches and positioning fixtures (e.g., for protective tape wrapping).
Technical troubleshooting: Addressing line issues immediately (e.g., misaligned crimping machines or recurring false negatives in smart lock pin-testing systems) to identify root causes and implement solutions.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
4+ years of experience in automotive Industry.
Good English communication and MS Office/Excel skills; experience with OEM/Tier-1 customers is preferred.
