The Role
* UTS is committed to employing and developing strong educators, understanding the importance that such a role has on individual students and the school community as a whole. The profile of the teacher, and main responsibilities are described here to give an understanding of the expectations and responsibilities of the position.
Main Responsibilities & Attributes
- Possess the courage to make an inspirational impact on society.
- A vision-led, mission-driven educator and model of the school's vision, mission, and philosophy of education.
- Makes child safeguarding and protection a top priority in their administrative practice. Shares the value and importance of child safeguarding to all stakeholders.
- Believes that all children are and should be considered talented.
- Plan, prepare, and teach well-developed lessons which provide a rigorous, innovative, and creative educational experience for students to develop both their talents and personalities.
- Display a high level of competence in their teaching methods and subject area.
- Effectively differentiate instruction so as to meet all students' learning needs with an appreciation for students' learning differences.
- Select and sequence appropriate materials, resources, and approaches according to the course/content area and audience of learners.
- Write reports on students with clear formative comments and targets as to how to improve work by defined deadlines given, and provide regular estimated grades and feedback on assessments.
- Ensures that parents have accurate information about the socialization and well-being of their children.
- Maintain current lesson plans, assessment data (i.e., grades), and attendance records using the school-sanctioned electronic interface.
- Complete administrative tasks as defined and by set deadlines.
- Record students' attendance and behavior and follow up as appropriate, in accordance with the Student Handbook.
- Develop materials and resources, implement, support and/or lead in the production and improvement of curriculum planning as appropriate, and undertake other academic project work as directed.
- Ensure lessons are in line with planning and their respective objectives, and that segments of lessons are shared with students, as appropriate.
- Provide feedback on materials, courses, and lessons to academic and other managers/colleagues as requested.
- Attend academic, departmental, and school meetings when required, and attend/deliver professional development sessions as directed.
- Actively participate in enriching extra-curricular activities which help to develop the whole child and discover and promote talent.
- Contributes well in collaborative work and is a true lifelong learner who is happy to learn from others and partakes in their own professional development and improvement by creating a plan for professional development.
- Aids colleagues through informal observations, substitute teaching, and professional feedback.
- Help to contribute to an atmosphere of professionalism and learning by adhering to the policies and procedures of the organization.
- Address and respond to student issues/emergencies as needed.
- Culturally adaptable and adept in managing, working with, and reporting to colleagues from different cultures.

- Bachelor's degree in Education OR
- Bachelor's degree and TESOL/ TEFL/CELTA certificate
- Overseas criminal background check
- Teaching experiences with K-12 students
- Energized, open-minded and extremely proactive.
- Passion to growth and strong time management skill to work in a changeable environment, manage workload and multiple projects.
- Open-minded, practical creativity and result-oriented.
- Responsible and honest at work.
