Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Arup Vietnam General Director, the MEP Team Leader will be responsible for leading the MEP team in delivering projects in the Vietnam and overseas markets.
The MEP team leader will be part of the Senior Leadership team for Arup Vietnam, responsible for the continued growth of the MEP Team for both internal and external market, and will also be expected to take overall ownership for the technical and commercial performance of the team.
- Lead the growth of Arup's MEP Team ensuring that the Team structure is consistent with workload and the requirements of our Clients;
- The team structure may in time comprise teams serving the Vietnam market (on-shore) and those serving other offices (off-shore) as part of the work-sharing strategy for the Arup South East Asia. The MEP Team Leader will have oversight over all such teams;
- Implement technical project reviews ensuring high attention to QA/QC of technical deliverables
- Undertake project management of large scale MEP projects;
- Liaise with project stakeholders including Clients, Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Contractors etc, both external to Arup as well as internal (in the case of off-shore work). Delegation to team leaders/PMs may be required, but the MEP Team Leader is expected to maintain oversight of all stakeholder relationship;
- Function as an integral part of the Go-to-Market team focusing on
Business Development. Act as ambassador for Arup in the market promoting MEP (in depth) and other service offerings (at a high level). Participate in promotional events including speaking engagement at seminar/conference, participation in trade/industry organisations, and engaging in out-reach activities with local Universities and Institutions;
- Lead bid preparation on MEP and multidisciplinary bids. Participate in technical, commercial and contractual negotiations with Client (with the support of other Senior Leaders and General Director);
- Participate in resource planning, ensuring a suitable resource fit for existing and potential new projects;
- Ensure that commercial aspects of projects are addressed and kept up to date through the use of PFF and participation in monthly commercial meetings - delegation to individual PM wills be required, but it is expected that the MEP leader will have oversight on all the projects;
- Active participation in the management of the Arup Vietnam Office looking after the interest of the office as a whole and not just the MEP team. Participation in senior management meetings as required as part of this process.

Qualifications
- 15 to 20 years relevant working experience;
- From an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background. It is expected that the candidate will be able to at least fulfil the requirements of the Team Leader position for either of these discipline (refer to separate Job Descriptions where relevant);
- Bachelor degree in in
Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;
- Preference will be given to candidates with relevant professional qualifications or a Masters Degree in a related field;
- Previous experience of managing a MEP Team in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment is essential;
- Fluency in English (spoken & written) is essential;
- Previous experience of working in Vietnam will be an advantage
- Knowledge and experience in the design of Data Centre and/or Infrastructure will be an advantage.
