About the job
Saafehouse builds technology that supports secure cash, asset and client-money operations, including reconciliations, approvals, payments, reporting, document management and integrations for developed financial markets.
We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our growing in-house engineering team in Vietnam. We are bringing ownership of our fintech platform in-house: you will learn the existing platform, the existing manual test suite and product knowledge while working alongside our engineering partner, then gradually build a reliable automation testing pipeline.
This is a senior hands-on role. You will stay close to the testing work while helping junior QA engineers develop the skills and confidence to share the workload, working closely with the Head of Engineering and the
Product Owner.
Location: Hybrid at Saafehouse VN office, Da Nang.
Your skills and experience
Your responsibilities
Implement internal QA workflows that work alongside our engineering partner, then gradually build a reliable automated testing pipeline.
Define a practical automation strategy, select the right E2E framework and establish maintainable standards.
Prioritise and automate critical user journeys while retaining exploratory and manual testing where it adds value.
Integrate reliable automated testing into CI/CD to improve release confidence and feedback speed.
Own the approach to test environments, test data, failure diagnosis and automation stability.
Partner with
developers, QA, the Product Owner and Head of Engineering to improve quality across the delivery lifecycle.
Remain hands-on while mentoring junior QA engineers, sharing knowledge and distributing work effectively.
Your skills and experience
Strong experience testing production web applications and building maintainable automation suites.
Strong practical experience with a modern E2E testing framework such as Playwright or Cypress.
Good understanding of test strategy, the test pyramid and the roles of unit, API, integration and end-to-end testing.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD, including fast smoke checks and broader regression coverage.
Experience managing test data, environment dependencies and independent test execution.
A systematic approach to diagnosing flaky tests, asynchronous behaviour, dynamic UI elements and backend or environment failures.
The judgement to prioritise business-critical flows and stable coverage before over-engineering the framework.
Strong exploratory-testing skills and the ability to turn product risks and manual knowledge into clear, reusable test cases.
Clear communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with developers, QA, product colleagues and external partners.
Experience mentoring junior team members and helping them contribute independently.
Our platform is built on modern web technologies, relational databases and AWS cloud services, with Git and GitHub for day-to-day development. You do not need experience with every tool; strong experience with a comparable modern stack and the ability to learn an existing system quickly matter more.
Clear written and spoken English, with the ability to work directly with UK leadership.
Nice to have
Experience in fintech or another regulated environment.
Experience with API testing and data validation.
Experience testing multi-tenant products.
Experience in a vendor-to-in-house transition or working alongside an outsourced engineering partner.
