Summary Description: To ensure that oversea activities are well transitioned and served from/in oversea or managing; To further develop Pudong's reputation in the marketplace through focus on Operations, Finances, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture in adherence to the company's policy and procedures.
People:
• Develop department personnel. Show them a career, not just a job.
• Secure sufficient Sales personnel to effectively engage the agent's database. Continually recruit and interview to find new potential candidates.
• Create and manage career development plans for the team
• Review and coach oversea team towards expectations
• Review and conduct staff appraisals timely, and at a minimum once per quarter per employee (Employee performance evaluation) and one-on-one meeting.
• Develop solid #2 to run operations and assists in retention.
• Ensure and assist supervisors and key staff with goal setting and monitoring.
• Conduct weekly one-on-one discussions, monthly pipeline review and quarterly performance reviews.
• Plan for and hold effective monthly/fortnightly department meetings with team.
• Review department goals and business plan periodically with staff to ensure by-in and accountability.
• Be responsible for the training and development of oversea staff within the branch
• Meet company standards including as needed management/leadership training
Operations:
• Oversee the management of department.
• Proactively monitor exception reports to ensure Pudong service is meeting key event milestones within the life of a shipment
• Manage implementation and ensure the "Standard Operating Procedures" for the client. Also, coordinate and support on SOP revisions and send updates to Customer.
• Assist Pudong Sales work with origin/destination operation teams, when needed, in providing operational knowledge
• Ensure that current and new business is set up and maintained in the most operationally efficient and productive manner.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with current agents and customers.
• Own and manage the agent program within Pudong, ensuring consistent and high-level operational quality to our customers.
• Define area to improve with current agents.
• Ensure Agent performance reviews and scorecards are completed with regular agent(s).
• Evaluate service providers at defined intervals per company policy, focusing on areas of possible improvements with corrective action plans where needed.
Sales:
• Create and manage the oversea department budget.
• Promote the company's products and achieve KPI including basic targets and business targets allocated in each period.
• Actively develop business for department through active involvement in sales and retention process and close coordination with internal sales & overseas department, as per company objectives.
• Responsible for retention and development of oversea customers (Agents).
• Actively engage in closing large opportunities with sales/oversea team.
• Pro-actively provide pricing alternatives, routing solutions and technical assistance to clients through internal sales both Vietnam and Pudong's network.
• Respond to requests for proposals, quotation or information timely and with market competitive pricing matching the scope of service required by internal sales/agents.
• Take an active role in the transition of new business/ updates to existing business.
• Responsible for maintaining the agreed-upon scope of services for internal sales.
• Responsible for identifying and defining realistic service needs and measurements.
• Ensure that the team is prepared to successfully transition to all new businesses.
• Keep the clients abreast of the latest developments in market.
• Facilitate weekly for Sales, management in communication and collaboration.
• Make face-to-face (F2F) call weekly for retention and sales.
• Take on additional assignments as required to support company needs.
• College degree and above or equivalent qualifications majoring in business administration, import-export, marketing of foreign trade, maritime or commercial schools.
• Foreign language: English IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, speaking Chinese is an advantage
• Proven experience in sales or
business development, preferably within the logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industry.
• Sales oriented, customer service skills and interpersonal skills are required.
• Able to work well in team, under high pressure and within tight deadline.
• Strong problem-solving, proven negotiation skills.
• Strong rapport and relationship-building focus, particularly within the target business community.
• Ability to perform and meet KPI requirements.
• Contract negotiations experience.
• Structured and organized.
• Effective at delegating.
• Charismatic with an ability to connect.
• At least 5 years' experience in US-UK/ China freight forwarding is an advantage.
• Good communication skills, customer orientation, teamwork spirit.
• Good PC skills including MS Word and Excel.
