Production & Design Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the senior engineering and design staff in developing high-quality composite boats. You will play a crucial role in translating conceptual designs into actionable manufacturing drawings and 3D models. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior engineer to grow their skills in marine design and gain hands-on experience in the composite manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
• Drafting & Modeling: Create detailed 2D production drawings and 3D models for boat hulls, decks, internal structures, and small components using AutoCAD and Rhino 3D.
• Engineering Calculations: Perform basic marine engineering calculations, including weight estimations, center of gravity (CG), basic buoyancy, and material requirement estimations.
• Production Support: Generate and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs), lamination schedules, and cutting files (CNC routing) for the production team.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the production floor to troubleshoot design issues, ensure models are optimized for manufacturability, and bridge the gap between digital design and physical building.
• Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date design files, revision logs, and technical documentation.
• Production Drawing Development: Convert conceptual and basic design drawings into complete manufacturing and shop drawings, prepare detailed fabrication drawings suitable for production and assembly, ensure all production drawings are practical, accurate, and optimized for manufacturing.
