Production Leader

JOB PURPOSE
The Production Leader is the architect of the value stream, identifying value as defined from the customer's perspective and leading the effort to achieve an ever-shortening value-creating flow through the application of Lean principles.
The Production Leader coordinates and facilitates the daily operations of the assigned Value Stream(s), providing adequate resources, ongoing work direction and problem solving to ensure business goals are met within the guidelines of the company's policies and procedures.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Responsible for schedule attainment, setup wheel attainment, and labor productivity
2. Responsible for OEE improvement and EHS; coach and develop teams and execute training
3. Management responsible for the overall cost, schedule, quality and execution of production
4. Identify and communicate operating unit goals and technology plans with respect to health, safety, and environmental concerns, unit operations, and technical opportunities
5. Interact daily with functional resources including manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, material control, and quality control to ensure production requirements are met
6. Establish metrics for the Value Stream(s)
7. Lead the development of current and future state value stream maps and Lean continuous improvement plans, and implement those plans across the value stream
8. Plan daily operations and optimize the utilization of skills, available work hours, material and work-flow to assure timely production within acceptable quality standards
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Schedule attainment, setup wheel attainment, and labour productivity (30%)
2. OEE improvement and EHS, including team coaching, development and training (10%)
3. Overall cost, schedule, quality and execution of production (10%)
4. Operating unit goals and technology plans, with daily coordination across functional resources - manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, material control and quality control (30%)
5. Value Stream metrics, current- and future-state value stream maps, Lean continuous improvement plans, and daily operations planning (20%)
