Quality Assurance Analyst

Summary

As a Mid-Level Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality, performance, and usability of our mobile and web applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and report defects, ensure adherence to quality standards, and drive continuous improvement in our development processes.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mobile and web applications based on functional and non-functional requirements.
Conduct manual and automated testing to validate application functionality, usability, performance, and compatibility across multiple devices and platforms.
Utilize automated testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, or similar to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
Configure and maintain automated testing pipelines using continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar.
Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools such as JIRA or similar, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
Perform regression testing to verify bug fixes and prevent regression issues in subsequent releases.
Collaborate with product managers, developers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings to provide input on testing efforts and help prioritize tasks.
Continuously monitor and analyze test results, metrics, and trends to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in mobile and web application testing, and share knowledge with the team.

Education, Certifications, and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on testing mobile and web applications.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, concepts, and best practices.
Proficiency in manual testing techniques and experience with automated testing tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar.
Experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms, including knowledge of device-specific nuances and behaviors.
Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in Agile development environments.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
ISTQB or similar certification in software testing (preferred but not required).
