Quality Control Engineer

Key Role
This role will be mainly responsible for conducting inspections for all categories that covered by the company in his/her region, provide inspection reports, resolve quality issues, follow up quality improvement projects with vendors, and ensure quality compliance & consistency of all products and packages shipped to the customers. This position will be required to work in alignment with internal functional teams including Quality, Sourcing, Supply Chain team in Ferguson Asia offices.
Responsibilities
• Conduct pre-shipment inspections for final products, evaluate product quality from safety, performance, compliance, appearance, and packaging, ensure the products have no significant quality issues before shipment, and provide accurate, objective, and timely reporting of inspection results.
• Review product specifications, engineering drawings, and QC checklists prior to inspection to ensure correct evaluation criteria.
• Make inspection decisions (Pass/Fail/Hold) based on defined acceptance criteria and escalate critical issues to QC Supervisor/Manager when necessary.
• Feedback the quality information to QC supervisor/manager timely and support to prepare the quality documents.
• When being requested by QA and agreed by QC supervisor, support QA to conduct on-site product quality evaluation, tests in vendors.
• Corrective actions onsite follow-up for PSI failures and complaints from customers, verify the effectiveness, work together with QA to drive continuous vendor quality improvement.
• Assist QA for sample review, verify the QC form. Update QC form when needed.
• Review and verify the inspection reports for vendors who are approved for doing self-inspection.
• Verify the readiness of products with vendor prior to coming for onsite inspection.
• Finish other tasks assigned by superior.
