1. Job Overview
The QC &
Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality excellence of the Mixing Plant. This role acts as a technical "gatekeeper," validating incoming raw materials (Chemicals, Rubber, etc.), semi-finished products (Masterbatch), and final mix compounds. The position combines laboratory testing precision with production line auditing to maintain compliance with Michelin Group's global standards.
2. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Quality Validation & Testing (Lab Focus):
- Perform validation tests on incoming Raw Materials (Chemicals, Rubber, Compounds, Bead Wire, and Separation Emulsions).
- Conduct testing for Masterbatch and Final Mix products to ensure they meet internal and international standards.
- Implement and set up new test methods following customer requirements and Michelin Group's best practices.
- Manage laboratory equipment and ensure all measuring tools are calibrated and operating correctly.
Process Control & Auditing (Production Focus):
- Conduct Patrol Audits on the production line to monitor process parameters according to the Control Plan.
- Verify that the production team is following the correct recipes and technical specifications.
- Support Engineers in technical investigations and troubleshooting production issues.
Non-Conformity (NC) Management:
- Identify and control Non-Conforming products, ensuring they are kept on-hold at the correct location with accurate quantities.
- Prevent any leakage of NC products to the next process or the customer.
- Analyze and provide data to help management make decisions on on-hold products (Release, Rework, or Scrap).
Compliance & Reporting:
- Submit accurate shift reports regarding quality activities, progress, and incidents to relevant partners.
Strictly adhere to Company Safety Rules and Quality Cardinal Rules:
Maintain the Company's Quality Management System (ISO/IATF standards).
- Education:
College's Degree in Chemistry, Rubber/Polymer Technology, Mechanical Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience:
At least 6 months to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred experience in Rubber production, QC Technical Labs, or Quality Process Control.
- Technical Skills & Competencies
* Lab Operations: Expert level in laboratory practices and testing methods.
* Process Understanding: Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control plans.
* Equipment: Proficiency in using specialized measuring and testing equipment.
* Problem Solving: Level 2 (Ability to investigate and identify root causes).
* MS Office: Basic to Intermediate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data entry and reporting.

English: Basic (Ability to read technical documents and write simple reports).

Well-organized: High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
