We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer for Quantum Chips to develop systems that automate and optimize quantum layout generation and design workflows. In this role, you will bridge the gap between quantum hardware architecture and cleanroom fabrication, building the scalable software infrastructure required to layout design-ready superconducting qubits, resonators, and control lines.
Key Responsibilities: Superconducting Quantum Layout
- Automated Layout Generation: Develop Python-based algorithms and tooling to automate the generation, manipulation, and validation of complex superconducting quantum chip layouts (GDSII format).
- QPU Architecture Optimization: Apply optimization algorithms to optimize qubit placement, minimize crosstalk, and maximize two-qubit gate fidelities.
- Quantum Routing: Develop algorithms for design and silmulation microwave control and readout lines on planar or multi-layer (flip-chip) architectures.
- Error Reduction: Identify gaps in current workflows and propose automated solutions to minimize layout errors, ensuring precise control over critical microwave and microwave-coplanar waveguide (CPW) geometries.
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer/
Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or related technical fields.
- Strong foundation in solid-state physics, quantum mechanics, superconducting qubit dynamics, and EDA tools specialized for RF/Quantum design.
- Technical Experience:
+ Experience with design frameworks (e.g., Qiskit,...).
+ Hands-on experience with circuit modeling and simulation tools.
+ EDA Tools & Formats: Hands-on experience with GDSII data formats and IC layout tooling (e.g., KLayout, gdspy, Cadence, or similar).
+ Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing (HPC) libraries.
+ Fabrication & Lithography: Working knowledge of semiconductor or quantum fabrication workflows is a strong plus.
+ Superconducting Quantum Knowledge: Familiarity with superconducting quantum computing concepts is highly preferred.
