Senior Backend Engineer
Python, AI-assisted Full-stack

We are looking for a senior backend engineer who already works with AI every day and thinks clearly enough to know when the AI is wrong.
You will own server-side work end to end: understanding the client problem, designing the data model and APIs, building and testing them, and shipping to production. When a feature needs frontend work, you will build it too, using AI tools to move fast in React or [protected info], with our frontend team reviewing UI quality.
At Glinteco, AI writes a lot of code, but people own every decision. You are responsible for every line you merge, whether you typed it or not. That means more reviewing, more questioning, and more testing, not less.
What you will do
Design and build APIs, background jobs, and integrations in Python (Django/DRF, FastAPI)
Model data and optimise queries in PostgreSQL
Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar) daily for building, refactoring, testing, and debugging
Ship small to medium frontend features in React/[protected info] with AI assistance
Break vague requirements into clear technical tasks with BAs and clients, and push back when something does not make sense
Review code from teammates and from AI, with a sharp eye on security, data integrity, and edge cases
Support deployments and production issues on AWS and similar platforms
Help define how the team uses AI well: prompts, review checklists, and what we never delegate to AI
Working hours
Our core hours overlap 4 to 5 hours with Sydney business time. US clients occasionally need an evening call (9:00 New York is 20:00 Hanoi). We tell you this upfront.
Yêu cầu
5+ years of professional backend development, with production systems you can walk us through in detail
Strong Python, plus solid experience with Django/DRF, FastAPI, or Flask
Strong SQL and relational data modelling (PostgreSQL preferred): schema design, indexing, query tuning, migrations on live data
2+ years of daily use of AI coding tools in real projects, with clear opinions on where they help and where they fail
Has shipped frontend features (React, [protected info], or similar), with or without AI help, and can read and debug frontend code
Git, automated testing, CI/CD, Docker
Clear, structured thinking: you can explain a trade-off simply and defend a decision with reasons
English good enough to read client requirements, write technical notes, and join client calls
Nice to have
Building LLM features: RAG, tool calling, agents, evaluation
js / TypeScript backend experience
AWS in production (ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda or similar)
Experience with ERP, CRM, or other business systems with complex workflows
Has worked directly with clients in Australia, the US, or Europe
