About the Opportunity
Our client is a prestigious European structural and civil engineering consultancy headquartered in Germany, with expanding engineering hubs across Southeast Asia. Specializing in structural design, BIM modeling, and project management for high-profile industrial, commercial, and residential developments across Europe and Asia, the company integrates European engineering precision with digital innovation. They are seeking an experienced Senior Structural BIM Engineer to join their Ho Chi Minh City office and lead high-quality international structural design projects.
As a Senior Structural BIM Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining high-precision 3D BIM models for complex structural projects. You will work closely with cross-border engineering teams in Europe and Vietnam to deliver structural solutions, detail rebar designs, and ensure strict compliance with European technical codes and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Modeling & Structural Detailing (70%)
Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for structural engineering projects (cast-in-situ reinforced concrete, precast elements, and steel structures) using software such as Revit, Allplan, or Tekla.
Generate accurate 2D/3D structural drawings, reinforcement detailing (rebar plans), formwork drawings, and quantity takeoff schedules.
Collaborate with international structural design engineers and multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural design into overall project models.
Perform clash detection, analyze spatial intersection issues, and coordinate technical solutions to refine models.
Quality Control & Workflow Optimization (30%)
Ensure all models, drawings, and deliverables strictly meet client specifications, internal QA/QC procedures, and European technical standards (Eurocode).
Review and cross-check project documents (technical specifications, architectural drawings, and engineer notes) before project submission.
Support the implementation and improvement of BIM standards, template libraries, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the company.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior BIM modelers/engineers.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related fields.
Minimum 3+ years of technical experience in BIM modeling and structural detailing for building/industrial projects.
Highly proficient in at least one major BIM software: Revit, Allplan, or Tekla Structures. (Experience with Allplan is a strong advantage).
Strong understanding of structural design principles, concrete detailing, steel connections, and general construction methods.
Good command of written and spoken English for daily communication with international design teams.
Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving attitude, high sense of accountability, and excellent teamwork capability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in European engineering consultancy projects or international outsourcing environments.
Familiarity with Eurocode standards and Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.
Basic reading or communication skills in German is a plus.
