PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling) is a leading Vietnamese drilling contractor, owning and operating a fleet of offshore drilling rigs and delivering drilling and well services to oil and gas operators in Vietnam and the region.
Position Overview The Senior Contract Executive plays a key role in winning and sustaining the company's drilling rig contracts. The position is responsible for preparing competitive tender submissions, negotiating commercially balanced terms with a fair allocation of risk between the parties, and administering contracts in a way that supports long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of tender submissions for offshore drilling rig services, from review of tender requirements and coordination of technical and commercial inputs to timely and fully compliant submission.
Manage client clarifications and lead commercial and contractual negotiations through to contract award, seeking practical solutions that work for both the client and the company.
Draft and review drilling contracts and related agreements, assessing risk exposure and proposing a fair and workable allocation of responsibilities in line with company policies and industry practice.
Act as a key interface between internal functions (Operations, Technical, Legal, Finance, HSEQ) and external parties (clients, agents, suppliers, consultants) to ensure the accuracy and consistency of tender and contract documents.
Administer contracts during execution, including monitoring key obligations, preparing contract amendments, and resolving commercial issues with clients in a constructive and timely manner.
Maintain the tender and contract register and prepare management reports and internal approval submissions.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Law, Economics, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in tendering, contract drafting and contract administration within the oil and gas industry, preferably in the offshore drilling sector.
Sound understanding of drilling contract principles, including risk allocation, indemnities, liabilities and insurance. Familiarity with industry model forms (e.g. IADC) is an advantage.
Fluent written and spoken English (IELTS 7.0 or equivalent), with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with clients and business partners.
Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the commercial judgment to balance risk and opportunity.
Effective negotiator with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach.
Able to manage multiple priorities under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
High standards of integrity and confidentiality.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with tender or contract management systems is an advantage.
